What to Expect

Walk under the Snow Moon and see the Muskegon River in a new light. 🌕 Join our guided evening hike as we explore winter trails, listen for night sounds, and talk about how a healthy watershed supports wildlife all year.

The hike will be approximately 1.5 miles long and is estimated to take the average hiker about an hour, depending upon conditions. If there is a lot of snow, snowshoes will be encouraged and will break the trail! Following the hike, a riverfront bonfire will be hosted nearby by MRWA and neighbors Denise and Mike Anderson.

Hikers will meet at the upper parking lot for the Croton DNR Public Boat Launch at 5:30pm. From there, hikers will shuttle to the starting point and will hike back to their cars. Timing should be right to catch the sunset during a walk through the woods 🌲, followed by the full moon from the bluff of the Muskegon River.

Your registration will help us keep you informed of event details. Dress for the weather, bring a flashlight or headlamp, snowshoes, and come ready for a quiet, steady-paced hike by the water.

Hikers will meet at Croton Dam DNR Boat Launch (no address, just coordinates and a plus code: 43°26’05.8″N, 85°39’57.3″W and C8MM+XJG Croton, Michigan)
